Central London. \" class=\"image-style-mediaklein\" \/><\/div>\n    <\/figure><\/div>\n\n  <\/article><figcaption>Emslie Hornimons Pleasance Park in Central London.\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>In a press release Hugh Neil, Director at Margin Art &amp; Media said the statue will be located in the Emslie Hornimons Pleasance Park in Central London, near the Royal Borough of Kensington &amp; Chelsea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis location has great significance. It is where the Nottinghill carnival was started by the Black community in London; which means that the sculpture will be visited by over two million people each year as they celebrate the Notting Hill Carnival.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Neil: \u201cThis project has taken two years to get to this stage. We are delighted that it will be completed with the unveiling scheduled for 2025. My thanks goes to our team in the Netherlands and London whom made this project possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The press release also noted that Pastor Michael Hector\u00a0has been invited to bless the art opening. In an interview about the art piece, the pastor who was born down the road from where the art piece will be located, reflected on its permanent status. &#8220;Society is changing.\u00a0We are not cargo anymore.\u00a0The art piecewill hopefull signify that we should\u00a0to learn from history and improve destiny.&#8221;<\/p>\n<article class=\"align-left\"><div class=\"field field-media--field-media-image field-formatter-image field-name-field-media-image field-type-image field-label-hidden has-single\"><figure class=\"field-type-image__figure image-count-1\"><div class=\"field-type-image__item\">\n        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/mediaklein\/public\/2025-04\/nelson%20carrilho.jpg\" width=\"179\" height=\"171\" alt=\"Nelson Carrilho\" class=\"image-style-mediaklein\" \/><\/div>\n    <\/figure><\/div>\n\n  <\/article><p><strong>About the artist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nelson Carrilho was born in Cura\u00e7ao, and moved to the Netherlands when he was eleven.
