São Tomé & Príncipe to host the Ubuntu Awakening Summit this August
The Central African island country of São Tomé and Príncipe is hosting the second annual Ubuntu Awakening Summit from 7th to 14th August, 2025 at the University of São Tomé & Príncipe in São Tomé. The event is being organize by Umoja Generational Wealth (UGW), the global community for African and African Diaspora entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals.
In a press release issued this week, UGW announced that the theme of its Ubuntu Awakening Summit 2025 is “Reverse the Triangle, Breaking Barriers”.
The summit will open the way to create economic and social liberation pathways under Ubuntu Principles, network with like-minded people, and to forge business and partnership opportunities. Ubuntu Awakening Summit is expected to attract over 500 people of African and African descent from across the globe who want spiritual awakening, want to connect with their ancestral lineage, want to discover their heritage, are looking for business opportunities, want to discover the beautiful paradise of São Tomé & Príncipe and are looking for generational connection from school-aged youths, young adults and seniors.
Among the many activities, including interactive workshops, attendees can expect to be presented with a wealth of invaluable information delivered by featured guest speakers: Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao, King Joshua Maponga III, Mut Rosa Natalino - Kasa de MAAT, Prof. Inocência da Mata, Prof. Femi Esan, Lual Mayen and many more. Speakers’ topics include, Unite and Thrive, From Divide and Rule; Unlocking Your Ancestral Memory; On the Path to Umnotho; and, Return, Repair and Restore Our Dignity. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in other activities such as Ubuntopoly, Treasure Hunt, Sunset Meditation, and Circle of Fire, tours, visit to the 1st Enslavement Hub, Touch the Equator Line, and to dine with the speakers.
Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao (event keynote speaker) said: “We need to come together. We need to first decolonize the Black mind. We need to take time to sincerely [make an] inventory [of] who we are and how we were colonized, otherwise the battle is going to be lost.”
During this family fun event, attendees can indulge in various products and services showcased by stall holders; a full line-up of participating stall holders will be available on the UGW website.
