An arrow aimed at the stars can still miss its mark and fall to earth with unintended consequences

An arrow aimed at the stars can still miss its mark and fall to earth with unintended consequences

On behalf of FamotaX. and Jaequitas , I had the pleasure of attending the symposium on sustainable trade with Africa, organized by the #SDGCAFÉ in The Hague at the Malietoren on Tuesday, 11th February.

The symposium focused on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive of the European Union (https://commission.europa.eu/business-economy-euro/doing-business-eu/sustainability-due-diligence-responsible-business/corporate-sustainability-due-diligence_en) which came into effect on 25th July 2024. I would like to extend my gratitude to the keynote speaker, Mr. Marhijn Visser of VNO-NCW and Carola Baller of the same organization, Mr. Mattijs Renden of NABC Netherlands-African Business Council, Mr. Vincent Gambrah , and Mr. Max Koffi for sharing their valuable insights.

Commemorating in Color

This weekend, together with alderman Bob Roelofs, I laid a wreath on behalf of the municipality of Arnhem for the first time during the Poppy Day commemoration in Oosterbeek. 16 generations of misinformation and misdirection

16 generations of misinformation and misdirection

“Just to deliberately pile on top of what I already wrote about my July 1st lecture at HAN. It’s not that I’m against remembrance,. It’s that I’m against celebrating the victory of misdirection. This is not just about the Netherlands and not just about Keti Koti. This is about acceptance of greed that masquerades as a party. Because remembrance without truth is hollow. And celebration without justice is an insult. To all of us!
This is not a one-day, one-off hype thing. A July 1st or a June 19th or Black History Month thing. It’s a lifestyle.
If the truth is a lie, it will set you free.”
